Once you have applied the patch and used, it can’t be used again. It can be worn for up to 24 hours to extend the use time, but after removed, should be disposed. You can use more than one patch in a day, for instance a patch during a game of tennis, then a patch after you’ve showered.

Dry skin. The patch is suitable to perform with sweaty skin and wet weather conditions. However, a patch applied to wet skin will not adhere well and is suboptimal to patch product performance.

Worn before, during or after physical activity, the patch aims to provide pain-free mobility and aid recovery for those living active lifestyles. There are three ways to gain maximum benefit from the patch:

• Apply 1-patch during your workout or exercise to aid optimum function of the joint. Remove after your activity and discard.

After 24 hours, the patch is till safe but has depleted its concentration of active ingredients. The patch is curved in shape to sit around the fat pad under the kneecap, which is the most accessible point for delivering ingredients into the soft tissue of the joint. The tape allows the system to be held in place during excessive loads placed on the joint during physical activity and when cartilage is most compromised.

The Diamagnetic Polymer is a patented system, which harnesses the physical force of diamagnetic repulsion. Because an atomic structure of a molecule contains protons (positive charge) and electrons (negative charge) a magnetic field can influence the transportation of molecules across the skin barrier and into the tissue surrounding the knee. Most base elements are susceptible to a diamagnetic force. By programming the polymer to pair against the charge profile of the molecule, specific ingredients can be targeted and moved across the 70-100µm layer of the skin.

The polymer exerts enough force to push molecules but not enough to pass through the body. The polymer is encased in a plastic coating suitable for dermal exposure. It has been rigorously assessed by independent testing bodies and been declared free from any leachable materials and safe for human use. More on that here.

Our drug-free formulation consists of Glucosamine Sulfate, Chondroitin Sulfate and Menthol acting as a sensory agent. These ingredients are known to be precursor aggrecans required by the body to produce synovial fluid – the body’s natural joint lubricant.  By delivering these ingredients in their in-tact form, they are more easily absorbed into the joint and by-pass First Pass metabolism.

The compounds contained in our formulation are considered natural supplementation, therefore non-drug. Yes. The ingredients are drug-free and can be already found naturally occurring in your body. The patch can be used continuously over long periods, as opposed to oral and topical drug remedies, which are dangerous after 2-weeks use. The key ingredients are:

• Glucosamine Sulphate (GS) – an amino sugar commonly taken as an oral supplement to relieve arthritic pain in joints.
• Chondroitin Sulphate (CS) – a chained structure of amino sugars and an important component of joint cartilage.

The patch also contains menthol, an ingredient present in many topical remedies which helps provide soothing relief. If you have a known allergy to menthol, please seek medical advice before using.

The backing is a high-grade medical-grade tape, with hypoallergenic adhesive.

The only restriction on frequency is the user’s skin. Much in the same way a band aid continually placed on the same spot would dry out the skin underneath, the Lubricen® patch worn consecutively over a number of days might dry out the skin on the knee. After a couple days of consecutive uses, it would be best to give the skin at least a day’s break between uses.  Suggested wear time of each patch is up to 24 hours.

A soothing effect is typically felt for 1-2 hours after application, but the process of the body synthesising ingredients into lubrication could take many hours or days, depending on metabolic rates and other factors.
